Membership of the Association is open to anyone interested in art, architecture and archaeology, particularly of the Middle Ages. Applications for membership are welcome from amateur enthusiasts, young scholars and professionals alike – the Association’s events allow all to share knowledge and expertise in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Online access to the JBAA from 1845 to the current issue.
The opportunity to attend the Association’s annual Conference, held in and around a city of medieval significance, in the UK or occasionally Europe; to take part in regular Study days; and to attend the bi-annual Romanesque conference, organised by the Association
Preferential prices on publications of the proceedings of the above Conferences.
The Society of Antiquaries of London has granted the privilege of reading in its Library at Burlington House to any member of the Association engaged in archaeological or historical research.
There is a reciprocal arrangement with the Royal Archaeological Institute, whereby members of both organisations are invited to attend each other’s lectures.
Membership rates
Subscriptions are payable annually on the first day of January. Since 2016 the rates have been as follows:
*Student Members can be of any age, but are required to be studying for a qualification of degree or equivalent standard and the discount is limited to an initial period of three years.
**Retired Members should be over 65.
***Joint membership is available to persons sharing the same address as a current member, with full membership advantages, except a copy of the Journal.
Life membership has been discontinued.

If you are a UK tax payer and wish to allow us to claim Gift Aid on your subscription fees, please also download, fill in and send us the relevant form. Gift Aid helps support the work of the BAA by allowing us to reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 we receive.
