2016 Annual Conference in Paris

The 2016 British Archaeological Association Conference will take place in Paris, and is organised around the theme ‘Paris: The Powers that Shaped the Medieval City’. The conference will convene in the early afternoon of Saturday, 16 July and run until lunchtime on Wednesday, 20 July. There will be visits to some well-known sites, including Saint-Denis and Saint-Martin des Champs, but also walking tours to include less familiar monuments, including the Collège des Bernardins, Maison d’Ourscamp, St-Etienne-du-Mont, and the refectory of Ste-Geneviève.

Speakers include Meredith Cohen, Michael Davis, Alexandra Gajewski, Cecilia Gaposchkin, Lindy Grant, Sarah Guérin, Emily Guerry, James Hillson, William Chester Jordan, Terryl Kinder, Jeffrey Miller, Hélène Noizet, Christopher Norton, Dany Sandron, Christopher Wilson and Katherine Wilson.

Lectures will take place in the Auditorium of the INHA (Institut National de l’Histoire de l’Art) at 2 Rue Vivienne, 75002, Paris.

 

Accommodation:

Delegates will be expected to provide their own accommodation. A list of hotels within easy reach of the INHA will be provided.
