Ann Hignell

After school [St Brandon’s], University [of Sussex] and 27 years in the BBC, early retirement gave me the opportunity to enlarge seriously a life-time’s interest in medieval history. A BA from Birkbeck in History and Archaeology was followed by a MA in Medieval Studies at UCL. Since then I have been involved in the UCL History Dept.’s Monastic Archives project. Several years on the Council of LAMAS, and the (recent) Secretaryship of Morley Medieval has given me a good grounding in the operation of Societies formed for the appreciation and study of the Medieval heritage. I have been a member of the BAA since 1996 and always enjoyed its activities; I look forward to playing a part in the organisation of this Association.
