Date(s)
21 May 2013
Presented by
Prof. Phillip Dixon
Venue
Southwell Minster

Led by Professor Philip Dixon, consultant archaeologist for Southwell Minster, and author of Southwell Minster: A History and Guide, the study day will include locations within the Minster and surrounding buildings, giving delegates a sense of the historical complexity of the entire site and the wealth of archaeological remains resulting from 2000 years of occupation.

The study day will start at 10am, a light lunch will be provided in the Great Hall at approx. 1pm, and the visit will finish at approx. 4pm. Please be advised that access to some parts of the Minster is by way of narrow spiral stairways, and that uneven surfaces and potential trip hazards are to be expected in all areas of the site. Caution is therefore necessary at all times and flat, sturdy footwear must be worn.
